Dougal Cameron, CFA is a technology entrepreneur and early venture investor. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Golden Section Technologies (GST), a software consultancy and early stage venture partner he co-founded with a partner, Isaac Shi. Under Mr. Cameron’s management, GST has grown to a team of more than sixty professionals and invested in numerous technology ventures.
Recently, Mr. Cameron served as CEO of Prognosis Innovation Healthcare, a leading inpatient EHR, prior to the sale of the business to a Kayne Anderson portfolio company, Azalea Health Innovations, Inc in September 2017. Prior to his roles at GST and Prognosis, Mr. Cameron launched a division of a Houston oil and gas manufacturing company to recertify and repair blowout preventers and other pressure control products. Mr. Cameron has also worked in private equity for a private equity firm and in that capacity worked with a range of industrial companies including timber, steel manufacturers, drill collar manufacturing, and similar companies.
Mr. Cameron started his career at the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He worked as an analyst for several vice presidents and a senior vice president. His role included attending the board meetings of the Bank.
Mr. Cameron has a degree in history and math from Rhodes College and a M.B.A. from Rice University. In addition, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder and passed all three levels on the first attempt.
